The 1/2" scale, 2-1/2" gauge H.B. Fisher 4-6-4 "Hudson", designed by Harry Fisher in the 1930s and sold from his home in Belleville NJ. If you have ANY information, drawings, patterns, or castings for this design, please contact FRIENDS YANKEE SHOP MODELS.
In the 1930s, H.B. Fisher (Harry Fisher) of Belleville, NJ designed and built at least two live steam locomotives for which Friends Yankee Shop Models is today seeking the design details, and any drawings or patterns that still exist.
1/2" scale, 2-1/2" gauge 4-6-4 HUDSON
1/2" scale, 2-1/2" gauge 2-8-8-4 YELLOWSTONE
Both locomotives made visits to the Brotherhood of Live Steamers' meets in the 1930s in Marblehead, Massachusetts.
If you know the whereabouts of the drawings and patterns, please contact Friends Yankee Shop Models. One example of the "Hudson" is known to exist, but do you know if and where others exist? Also, do you know the location and disposition of Harry Fisher's original 2-8-8-4 "YELLOWSTONE"? Friends is interested in seeing it for the purpose of photographing and measuring it. (This is NOT a solicitation to buy a locomotive that may not be for sale. It is a request for information, and for permission to photograph and measure it so that its design features may be documented).
Please contact Friends if you can help locate these designs, or if you have drawings, patterns, or castings available. Even if you have ONLY the drawings, this will preserve the design details for future live steamers' use and prevent their loss to "time".
Thank you.
Another view of Harry Fisher's ORIGINAL Hudson. Photo by Keith Taylor. Mr. Fisher's patterns and drawings were given to the Eastern Live Steamers Club in New Jersey, and were for a time in the possession of Club President Joe Hild. When Joe Hild died, the patterns and drawings went somewhere. Do you know where? Please contact Friends Yankee Shop Models if you know. If you OWN the patterns and drawings, please contact Friends if you would like to sell.
