Classic Live Steam of Yesteryear

Long-Lost Designs Sought.....

H.B. Fisher New York Central NYC Hudson 4-6-4 live steam
The 1/2" scale 2-1/2" gauge "Harry Fisher" Hudson. FRIENDS thinks that the design details for this locomotive ought to be preserved; not forgotten about or lost. Do you have a set of drawings for this locomotive? Please contact FRIENDS if you can help.

Friends Yankee Shop Models'
goal is the preservation of the classic, small scale designs of "Yesteryear" (and the prevention of their loss). This includes: caring ownership of them; upgrading their obsolete patterns to modern standards; the production of castings for them in modern foundries; and these designs' future availability for live steamers, backyard railroaders, and home shop machinists. Too many small scale live steam designs (drawings, blueprints, patterns, molds, etc.) have been lost, disposed of, destroyed, or forgotten about. It's time to preserve what's left.

As such.....

Wanted:

Patterns, coreboxes, and drawings (or master tracings) for any American or Canadian live steam designs in 1/2", 3/4", and 1" scales such as were available from individuals, companies, or firms, who (or that) from about the 1920s to the 1950s advertised in magazines such as: The Modelmaker; The Miniature Locomotive; The Model Craftsman; The Live Steamer; The North American Live Steamer; and The Live Steam Newsletter. Also, any such designs as were developed by, and available from, private individuals during the early to mid twentieth century but that were not necessarily advertised in magazines or journals.

If you have old patterns, coreboxes, and drawings for live steam designs of Yesteryear, and would like Friends Yankee Shop Models to acquire them for the sake of their preservation and proper care, as well as producing castings, then please contact
john@friendsmodels.com.

(If you have a design or patterns, but do not wish to sell them, Friends understands this and would still like to talk with you about the possibility of producing it for current and future live steamers while YOU retain ownership. Please contact me regarding your designs, even if they're not for sale).

Don't own a long-lost design? Don't know anyone who does? Here's how you can help:

1.) Tell others about Friends' preservation efforts. Spread the word.

2.) Even if you only have (or know the location of) blueprints, be assured that Friends is interested in hearing about them.

3.) And finally, please keep your eyes on the activity on "eBay", and if anything that might be of interest to Friends is up for auction, please contact me. I check eBay from time to time, but cannot visit it every day. Blueprints, drawings, castings, patterns, partial or completed chasses or locomotives, etc. in the 1" and smaller scales from the 1920s to the 1980s, are all of interest to me.

I sincerely thank you.
