The Friends Models 3/4" scale, 3-1/2" gauge P4 class 4-6-2 Pacific, BOSTON and MAINE RR, as built by George Dimond and now owned by Mike Boucher. Photo courtesy Mike Boucher. If YOU would like "rough castings" for this design to be made available again, please make your desires known to me.
The Yankee Shop/Friends Models 3/4" scale 3-1/2" gauge P4 class Pacific is a "Heavy Pacific" as once used by many American railroads. The Yankee Shop/Friends Models version was designed in the 1940s and is patterned after the Boston and Maine 3700-series Pacifics, but those of other roads can be modeled as well. The Boston and Maine prototype #3713 is preserved at Steamtown in Pennsylvania.
The 3-1/2" gauge locomotive has slide valves dummied to look like piston valves, and Walschaert valve gear.
