Classic Live Steam of Yesteryear

H.J. Coventry 1" scale, 4-3/4" gauge Great Northern Railway (GNR; United Kingdom) 4-2-2 "Single"

In the 1970s, while in his eighties, Mr. Coventry desinged a 1" scale British "Single" for 4-3/4" gauge American 1" scale live steam tracks. Friends has acquired the design.

Check back soon for an elevation drawing of the locomotive to be posted here. It is a stunning looker, and its good looks and beauty will please you.

More important than "good looks" or "beauty", do you want to build a real "head turner" to run at your private (or club) 1" scale track? Consider the H.J. Coventry "Single". Ask yourself: when was the last time you saw a British "Single" on a 1" scale track on "this side of the pond"? Since they're about as rare as an eyeball on an egg "over here", the answer is probably "not recently", or "never".

If interested in "rough castings" for this locomotive, please make your desires known to
Friends.

Want to see what it "looks like"? See a photo of a 5" gauge GNR Single under steam in the United Kingdom, HERE.

And please "stay tuned" for the elevation drawing to be posted here soon.
